Acquisitions have been moving rapidly and, with the increased pace, EBITDA (Earnings Before Interest and Taxes net of Depreciation and Amortization) multiples have increased as well. Many industries have seen those multiples double. Since ROI expectations have not decreased, then expectations must have doubled. Acquired firms face a need to strengthen their income to asset ratios and the rest of us had better follow suit or expect to be acquired or otherwise penalized by owners who could do better elsewhere.
This session examines new ROI expectations, how best practices impact those expectations, and how to leverage those practices to optimize shareholder wealth. The whys and hows of optimizing profitability are presented in depth along with case examples illustrating successful implementation. This session is based on a large multi company consortium research project in progress at Texas A&M’s Supply Chain Systems Laboratory.
