1099 Electronic Media Changes for 2007 Draft

IRS has made changes to the 1099 electronic media format for Tax Year 2007.  Visit the IRS Forms web site for more information.  DPS Accounts Payable application customers should contact their project leader or complete the 1099 Response Form and return to DPS in order to schedule alert application.  Please contact DPS by December 21, 2007, in order to schedule this service.

1099 Electronic Media Changes

"A" record - 3 fields were removed:  Original File Indicator (Pos 48), Replacement File Indicator((Pos 49), and Correction File Indicator (Pos 50).

Availability

Customers having current maintenance agreements will have access to these changes, in the form of alerts, at no charge.  DPS will assist in the installation of the alerts as well.  Please contact your DPS project leader for additional details.  For those of you who do not have a current maintenance agreement, DPS will supply these alerts at a cost of $399.00, plus any time and materials charges to assist with the installation of the changes.  The 1099 alerts are available now.

Reminder - What Next?

DPS Accounts Payable application customers should contact their project leader or complete the 1099 Response Form and return to DPS in order to schedule alert application.  Please contact DPS by December 21, 2007, in order to schedule this service well in advance of the February 28, 2008, deadline for tape cartridge filing of 1099 forms or the March 31, 2008, deadline for electronic filing of 1099 forms.
