DPS Hosts Wholesale Distribution Technology Event

Featuring Leading Distribution Expert Adam J. Fein, Ph.D.

Indianapolis, IN – August 29, 2005 – DPS (Data Processing Services, Inc.), a software development, consulting, and services company dedicated to the wholesale distribution market, will host “Distribution Technology Trends: An Update,” Tuesday, September 20, 2005 from 8:45 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. at the Indiana State Museum downtown Indianapolis. (Registration is not available for events that have already taken place.)

The event features the wholesale distribution’s leading expert Adam J. Fein, Ph.D. President of Pembroke Consulting, Inc. and author of the wholesale industry’s best-selling future trends report Facing the Forces of Change: The Road to Opportunity published by the National Association of Wholesaler-Distributors. (www.nawpubs.org)

“We are excited to bring a world-recognized speaker such as Adam Fein to Indianapolis for this event.  His highly regarded perspectives on technology trends for wholesale distributors should provide great food-for-thought,” said DPS President Dan Barrow.

During the session, Fein will share the major trends impacting wholesale distribution for the next five years and beyond. These trends include customer self-service, strategic sourcing, fee-based distribution, competition in logistics and fulfillment, and what key role technology will play going forward in the wholesale distribution business.

“Technology is playing an increasingly important role in the wholesaler-distributors business,” said Pembroke Consulting President Adam J. Fein, Ph.D. “Small and mid-sized distributors need to take a close look at the systems they are investing in to ensure they can meet customer expectations and maximize productivity.”
